Field Closures and Safe Ball Play
During the spring, when the weather gets warmer and the snow is melting, it is necessary to close our playing field to preserve the grass for the warmer months.
When the field is closed, all students must play on the tarmac at recess. With the density of students on a small space, it has been mandated by the Health and Safety department during our annual inspection, that soccer and football games may not be played on the pavement in accordance to the YRDSB recommended Safe Ball Play guidelines.
While we know this may be disappointing to students, student safety is our priority.

Pink Shirt Day - February 26th
The last Wednesday each February is now the national anti-bullying day in Canada. It began in 2007 when two students took a stand against bullying after a peer was harassed for wearing pink - they chose to wear pink also to be allies. Last year alone, people in almost 180 countries shared their support of Pink Shirt Day through social media posts and donations. On February 26, 2020, we encourage everyone to practice kindness and wear pink to symbolize that you do not tolerate bullying.
