Summer Institute Registration Opens March 7th

Looking for summer learning and fun activities for students entering Senior Kindergarten to Grade 8? Summer Institute offers academic, recreational and athletic programs and activities with intentional links to the Ontario Curriculum.

The program runs for six weeks during July and August. It is offered at 11 school sites around York Region.

Registration opens March 7.  Families can now register online, as well as in person or by mail.

Base Registration Weekly Fees:
York Region District School Board students: $105 (4 day weeks) $120 (5 day weeks)

Non- York Region District School Board students: $130 (4 day weeks) $155 (5 day weeks)

Bounce Back and Thrive

In partnership with York Region Public Health, James Robinson is proud to be able to offer a free program for the parents or caregivers of children under eight years of age called Bounce Back and Thrive.

The program involves in-person sessions led by registered nurses to help parents build skills to help their children:

  • "Bounce back" from every day stress and hard times
  • Relieve stress and calmly solve problems and conflicts
  • Handle disappointment, anger and frustration
  • Feel good about themselves, confident, and hopeful for the future
The Bounce Back and Thrive program will run Tuesdays between 6-8 p.m. from March 20th to May 22nd. Child minding will be provided.

Space Pirates: The Musical!

Pirates! Aliens! Space Travel! 


The JRPS Ravens Drama Club will be presenting this year’s Musical, “Space Pirates” on Wednesday, March 7th, 7:00 p.m., at Markville S.S.

Space Pirates tells the story of Gabby, a kid who gets picked on during a school trip to the museum. Everything quickly changes when an alien space ship accidentally beams Gabby and her classmates up to outer space. Things go from bad to worse when the alien space ship is suddenly attacked by SPACE PIRATES! 

This whirlwind space adventure will be performed by James Robinson PS students in grade 2 and above.  All James Robinson students and their families are welcome to attend.  The show is about 1 hour in length and is full of great songs, fun dialogue and inspiring performances.  Hope to see you all there!

JRPS is Performing at the Marlies Game!

We are inviting you to join us at a J.R.P.S. Community Event!

J.R.P.S. band students have been invited to play O’Canada at the start of the Marlies Game on Sunday April 15, 2018.

The game will start at 4:00 pm at Ricoh Coliseum (45 Manitoba Dr., Toronto). Please invite your friends and family to join us for an afternoon hockey game. We hope to see your family there!

Tickets are $27 each and can be purchased on School Cash Online.

James Robinson Raven Spirit Wear

Our school identity has recently rebranded as the James Robinson Ravens, complete with a new school logo. It is time to splash it out and show our school pride with a new Spirit Wear collection.

Samples will be available for sizing in the front foyer at the following times:

Monday, Feb 5 @ lunch recess
Monday, Feb 5 @ 4:30-6:30 p.m.
Wednesday, Feb 7 @ snack recess

Spirit Wear sales will open Friday, Feb. 2 - Feb 15. 

A percentage of the revenue generated will be donated back to the school in order to support athletics and other program enhancements outlined in our school fundraising plan.
